Colleton Medical Center Auxiliary Volunteers will present several hundred Safe Kids Police Bears to the Colleton County Sheriff George Malone and Walterboro Public Safety Chief Otis Rhodes on Thursday, March 11, 2010. Safe Kids Director Chumpy Penfield and Dot Hawes arranged five Safe Kids Police Bears into plastic sheaths for law enforcement officials to give to children that may have become distraught by circumstances. Principles of Successful Parenting
Hello Readers!
Last week I wrote about teaching decision-making in children. As children get older, the steps involved in teaching decision-making become more complex. Many of us remember doing things in our youth that would absolutely scare us now; driving fast, engaging in risky behaviors, jumping from high places, sneaking out without permission, dating someone totally crazy, experimenting with drugs, and so on.
The reason that young people do some of the things they do is because they have no sense of mortality [death]. Mortality is so far removed from them and they don’t think about it. Another reason is that they don’t consideration the connectedness of their actions to their future. I often see those advertisements for “Girls Gone Wild” and wonder if any of these young women would become lawyers and just maybe candidates for the Supreme Court. Congratulations to the Colleton County High School Band of Blue “Varsity” Winter Guard for earning 1st place in Division 4 at the CWEA Hanahan “Hawk Invitational” Winter Ensemble Competition. American Red Cross volunteers responded to the scene of a residential fire in Smoaks this morning after receiving a call from Colleton County emergency personnel. (NAPSA)-Drip. Drip. Drip. The average American household wastes more than 10,000 gallons each year from easy-to-fix water leaks, adding up to more than one trillion gallons of water lost annually nationwide. Many of these leaks have do-it-yourself fixes that could cost only a few dollars to address.

“He Pointed A Gun” A deputy met with a complainant in regards to someone pointing a shot gun at him. The victim stated that he was standing on his property when the suspect pulled up in a small truck pulled in front of his residence. He stated that the suspect pointed the gun at him, telling him that he knew that he was responsible for breaking into his residence. Team Freadom racing is back with new style

Team freedom racing from Aiken, South Carolina switched from a dragster to a door car last October. Since then the father and son team of Buddy and Bo Sutton have spent roughly 500 hours finishing this car. The car is a 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo bodied top sportsman car, powered by a 638 Sonny’s bbbc. transmission and coverter duties was left up to camron at torque converter specialties in Columbia, SC. The engine is pumped with alcohol handled by a rons terminator system from killer rons fuel injection. A host of other parts from moroso, East Coast Auto Electric, msd, biondo, and autometer finish out the car. The beautiful paint job was painted by Bo and Larry Shirley laid out the art work on the car. Jimmy Gossett who also works for Buddy and Bo took care of the buffing.
