No bond set for stabbing suspect

An Asian man charged with two counts of Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill and one count of Grand Larceny will face a circuit court judge to determine if a bond will be set. Magistrate Casey Campbell arraigned Xin Hou Wu and did not set a bond.
Xin Hou Wu, 35, reportedly stabbed his former employer in the buttocks and then slashed another man’s neck leaving life-threatening injuries, late Saturday night. Both victims were transported the Medical University of South Carolina.
Colleton County Sheriff’s Detective Alan Inabinett said that despite an extreme language barrier between law enforcement, the suspect, and the victims, detectives were able to ascertain that Wu was previously employed at the House of Sake restaurant on Robert Smalls Parkway. Wu was recently fired from his job and was reportedly being taken to the Charleston Airport by his former employer, to catch a plane.
Reports indicate that shortly after the vehicle they were traveling in entered Colleton County, an apparent argument ensued between the two men that escalated to extreme violence. The second victim was traveling with a female in a second vehicle and noticed that vehicle one stopped. He reportedly approached the vehicle in which Xin Hou Wu was observed in a dispute with his father. Wu exited the passenger side of the vehicle and then cut the victim across the side of his neck then attacked the victim’s father.
Afterward, Wu reportedly stole the victims vehicle to escape the crime scene. Authorities received information concerning the direction of travel and other information from a caller who was following the suspect.
Wu took the vehicle and was traveling on northbound on Interstate 95. Walterboro Public Safety Sergeant Jason Chapman identified the vehicle on the interstate and initiated a traffic stop. Wu was arrested without in any future incident.
