Two women arrested in Solomon death

| A man familiar to many in Colleton was killed Saturday at a Fairfax motel and two women have been charged in connection with his death.Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating the case along with the Allendale County Coroner’s Office and Fairfax Police. |
| Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested 19-year-old Tyderria Mikell and 23-year-old Amanda Davis in connection with the incident, according to SLED Communications Director Jennifer Timmons. They are being held at the Hampton County Detention Center. Timmons said more arrests are expected.According to Fairfax Police Chief Marvin Williams, Fairfax police responded to a report of a shooting at the motel located at 2021 Hampton Avenue North around 6:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they observed a male subject lying face down in the parking lot of the motel.
Allendale County Coroner Hayzen Black identified the victim as William Rogers Solomon, 38, of Yemassee. Black said Solomon had had an altercation with several individuals at the motel and was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. After an autopsy in Columbia on Tuesday, the coroner reported that Solomon had been shot four times, and three of the bullets had been recovered from the victim. Black said late Tuesday that Solomon’s remains would make it to Young’s Funeral Home by Wednesday. |
