16th Annual Yemassee Shrimp Festival begins Thursday
| Once again, the time has come to join the fun, food and festivities. The 16th Annual Yemassee Shrimp Festival will officially kick of Thursday, September 17, 2009.

Magic Midway amusements will be located behind the Yemassee Town Hall where there will be food, arts & crafts, a kiddy parade and the fireworks display. Friday’s main event will be a street dance with live entertainment. Also, there will be fried Shrimp, shrimp gumbo, shrimp & grits, Frogmore stew, any and every kind of shrimp you can imagine. Come and have a taste of the most mouth-watering shrimp dish.
The festival continues Saturday with the parade taking place at 10:00 a.m. along Hwy 68 in Yemassee. There will be many vendors providing the lowcountry’s best food and fun. The Mayor’s Dance will be held at the Interstate Packers – Hwy 17-A.
The festival will conclude Sunday with it annual mud run on Pocotaligo Rd in Yemassee, SC.
