Colleton Emergency Preparedness lands new disaster trailer

| MeadWestvaco partners with Red Cross for Colleton County preparedness The American Red Cross announced earlier this month that MeadWestvaco (MWV) is the sponsoring partner for a Red Cross disaster trailer that has been placed in Colleton County for use in the event of a disaster. |
According to Regional Development Officer Gordon Robertson III, American Red Cross Carolina Lowcountry Chapter the trailer is stocked with necessary items to aid disaster victims. Leadership from MeadWestvaco and the Red Cross were present at recognition reception of the sponsorship at the Colleton County Emergency Preparedness Agency office at 108 Simmons Street in Walterboro on September 28 at 1:30 pm.
Announcing the sponsorship, Red Cross Regional Executive Director Louise Welch said, “We are grateful to have MeadWestvaco as a partner. This collaboration demonstrates MeadWestvaco’s support for the Red Cross and the communities we serve.” Trenor Hypes, MWV Region Director said, “MeadWestvaco is proud to join with the Red Cross in support of our neighbors in Colleton County. This disaster trailer is an important addition which will help facilitate a prompt response for isolated, rural communities, outside of the immediate Charleston area.”
