Murder suspect in double shooting arraigned

| Hampton County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Sunday, following a Friday night double shooting which left one of two brothers dead and the other in critical condition at the Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
According to Hampton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Shellie Murdaugh, Brandon L. Green, 29, of 557 Tulifinny Road, Yemassee, was charged with murder following a double shooting incident on Tuliffiny Road Friday night. Hampton County Magistrate Carolyn Williams arraigned suspect Green for murder Monday evening. |
Authorities stated there could also be possible other charges pending on Green in this case as the investigation is ongoing. Police stated the motive stemmed from an argument the three were involved in at the time of the incident.
A call came into officers around 9:00 p.m. Friday night as deputies responded to a shooting call on Tulifinny Road. Once deputies arrived on scene, they discovered one gunshot victim at 490 Tulifinny Road at the back door of a residence attempting to get help after being shot. It is unclear at this time how many times the victim had been shot.
After EMS personnel had begun assisting the first victim, a second victim was found laying in the yard of a residence at 1026 Tulifinny Road, the residence located next door to where the first victim was located. The second victim died on scene and the first victim was flown to Savannah Memorial for treatment of a gunshot wound to the stomach. It is also unknown at this time how many times the second victim may have been shot.
The first victim flown to Savannah has been identified as Anthony Antonio Badger, 24, of Tulifinny Road. Anthony Badger remained in critical condition Sunday at Savannah Memorial.
The second victim who died was identified by law enforcement as Donnmick Tirus Badger, 23, of 1026 Tulifinny Road. The two were brothers and an autopsy was planned, according to the Hampton County Coroner’s Office.
Law enforcement brought in the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office Canine Tracking Team to search for a suspect who was initially reported to have fled on foot. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also responded to the call. Officers later discovered the suspect had left the area in a vehicle. Search warrants have been issued in the case and the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office currently has one suspect in custody. Visit www.lowcountryus.net for updates on this story.
