The officer reportedly observed one of the suspects climbing into the window of room 118 of the Villager Inn. Once additional officers arrived on the scene two suspects were observed attempting to get a A/C Holding out of the wall of room 116.
Suspects Robert Lee Daniels, 43, of Yemassee and Johnny Lee Griffin, 43, of Yemassee were both identified as the offenders in the case.
Offender Griffin was allegedly holding a Dewalt Cordless Screwdriver in his hand and offender Daniels allegedly had a screwdriver in his hand. An A/C unit was also located in the bed of offender Griffin’s Red 2002 Dodge Pick-up Truck. He reported told officers that he and Daniels had gotten the unit from room 118. Also located inside the truck were three A/C Screens and the metal box that holds the A/C Unit.
According to Walterboro Public Safety Chief Otis Rhodes, the case remains under investigation and he could not comment as to whether the offenders had any prior criminal charges or if they were involved in any other burglaries by the time The Dispatch went to print.
