FastTrack small business students attend Quickbooks training
![]() |
| FastTrack small business students took the opportunity to participate in a 3-hour Intuit Quickbooks software training Tuesday night at Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. |
Colleton Improvement Collaborative Executive Director Gail Farrior negotiated with stakeholders to add the Quickbooks accounting module for students who completed other FastTrack courses with the nonprofit. The FastTrack courses have been provided in collaboration with the Technical College of the Lowcounty.
Certified Business Educator Tanya McAlhaney taught students the basics of Intuit Quickbooks while providing personal attention to each student like a personal coach. During the session, each student worked individually on a personal computer to explore the capabilities of the software and to consider how the software might be able to enhance their proficiency in business.
The session gave students an opportunity to create a Quickbooks company within the software and transact fictitious scenarios using a chart of accounts with various vendors and customers.
