| “I Wanted To Rest” A deputy was informed of a couple in a car involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot of northbound I-95 rest area. |
The female tore the male’s shirt off and he punched her. The couple had broken glass in the parking lot and the male threatened her. When the deputy arrived he spoke with the male subject who appeared to be agitated and hesitant about speaking with the deputy. The deputy then spoke with the female subject who stated they were traveling from Florida and an argument ensued shortly after they entered South Carolina because she wanted to stop and rest. Both parties stated everything was resolved and declined further assistance from the deputy. They were followed to the Dorchester/Colleton County line for observation and no altercations arose.
“Juvenile Assaulted On Bus” A school offi cial at CCHS stated that a female student stated a male student touched her inappropriately. The victim stated that while on the bus the subject touched her breast and buttocks without her permission and after she told him to stop. She also stated that she had gotten upset so she raised her voice and the bus driver had to pull over and made the subject move to another seat until they could reach the school. Once in the offi ce the subject admitted to touching the victim and his parents were informed that he would be charged for the incident. The victim’s parents were also notifi ed of the incident.
“Business Turns Physical” A deputy responded to a dispute involving a mortgage company and a customer. The victim advised he is a representative from a mortgage company and he was sent to speak with the victim about the agreement he had with the company. He further stated that while he was on cell phone speaking with another representative the subject hung up the phone and pushed it into his chest. It was at this time the subject began yelling for the victim to leave his property, but at the same time, he told his son to lock the gate so the victim could not leave. The victim advised that he got into his vehicle and drove towards the gate, but the subject would not allow him to leave. While waiting for the subject to open the gate, the subject punched the victim in the mouth through an open window. The subject then stated he was going to get his gun so when he was a safe distance away from the vehicle the victim jumped the fence and waited for law enforcement. The deputy met the subject at his residence and he stated the victim arrived on his property asking questions and would not identify himself, so he told him to leave his property. He advised the victim refused to leave and began an argument. He also admitted to having his son lock the gate, but he denied any physical contact. The dispatcher advised the deputy that when the victim was on the 911 call the subject was heard fi ghting the victim and they heard the subject threaten the victim by saying he was going in the house to get his gun. The subject was then arrest for simple assault and kidnapping.
“I Have Her Children” A walk up complainant advised a deputy that her nephew’s baby mother made threatening remarks towards her. She stated that she has temporary custody of their children and the subject told her that she was going to beat her up and kill her. The subject has also sent threatening text messages to the complainant’s husband. She was advised of warrant procedures.
“Child Assaulted” Deputies were called to a residence in regards to a sexual assault. The victim’s mother stated that her daughter told her and other members of their family that she was sexually assaulted by her step father, while she was at work. The victim stated while she was home alone with her stepfather he took her into his bedroom and had sexual intercourse with her on the fl oor. The victim also told her mother that this caused bleeding to her vaginal area and based on the victim’s statements this was not the fi rst time this has happened. Deputies were notifi ed and the mother was instructed to take the victim to MUSC for a sexual assault examination. The deputy was also advised to collect any clothing that was involved in the assault for evidence. The victim’s skirt was collected, but the complainant, unaware that the assault occurred, had already washed all other clothing. DSS was going to be contacted and a forensic interview was scheduled with the victim.
