Retired Organizations Awarded $200.00 Mini-Grant

Sallie Stephens, president of the Colleton County Education Association – Retired, announced in its recent meeting that the organization has been awarded one of three, NEA-sponsored Retired Association Grants in SC, to improve the unified membership throughout the SCEA-Retired.
The membership committee composed of Pearl Betty Rhode, Celia Price, Eliza Williams, and Vera Bodison was given October 1 as the deadline to submit the grant application to the state association; associations receiving the mini-grant would be notified by November 1st. Previous winners are not eligible.
The Colleton County Education Association- Retired has outlined its calendar for the school year and will use the grant funding to enhance it goals.
The organization welcomes new members Gloria Breland, Raul and Gloria Bradley, Mary Ellison, Margaret Roberts, and Vernell Williams. Other interested members are invited to join in this membership recruitment season by contacting Sallie Stephens at 562-8143 or membership chairperson Vera Bodison at 549-5487.
A Christmas dinner is planned at the Glass House Restaurant, December 4, at 5p. Members and friends are invited to this Dutch dinner.
