Principles of Successful Parenting
Hello Readers!
Last week I began writing about communication, however, this week of Thanksgiving I want to reflect on giving thanks for what you have. When my son was about eight years of age he started complaining about everything. This wasn’t right, that wasn’t right. Needless to say, this began wearing on my emotions, so I finally asked him, “Is anything right in your world?” I was shocked by his reply, “Yes, I can walk and I can talk, I have parents that love me…” So during this Thanksgiving season, I have decided to list 10 Things for Which I Am Thankful. |
10 Things for Which I Am Thankful.
- I am thankful that Jesus gave his life for me; through Him I have eternal life.
- I am thankful that I was born to MY parents; they shaped the person that I am today.
- I am thankful for my aunts, uncles, siblings (and siblings-in-laws), cousins, nieces, and nephews; I always knew that I was loved for me as a person.
- I am thankful for my husband; he has made my life a loving adventure.
- I am thankful for my son; he has made my life richer and more meaningful.
- I am thankful for my daughter-in-love and grandson; I have the daughter I always wanted and I have unconditional grand love.
- I am thankful for my education; it has opened doors for me that would have remained closed.
- I am thankful for my health; I am healthier than many people that are half my age.
- I am thankful for my friends; as one of them said, “A friend is someone who sees through the act and still enjoys the show.”
- I am thankful for my church, Ambassadors Christian Church; I remained grounded in the Word, surrounded by people of God, shepherded by Godly Pastors.
I challenge each of you and your children, to list 10 Things for Which You Are Thankful.
See you next week….Communicating with your child…The Next Step.
