Bringing lights of festivity to the community

| Pat and David Garris are recognized in the Smoaks community for doing what they can to help others. As owners of P&D Grocery on Lowcountry Highway in Smoaks, they often have people share their most intimate good and poor experiences |
Vanessa Jenkins, Margie Jakes, Candy Stephens, Angela Munn, Brandie Lyons, Kaydence Crosby, Lauren Hartley, and Katrina Ryan works for them at the store.
In keeping with the kindness extended to their customers, they have decorated their property with a spectacular display of Christmas lights for the community to enjoy.
David Gar Linder said although many are having it rough, the Lights of Garris Avenue seem to be offering light in dark times. Granddaughter Victoria Garris helps out where ever she can.
“Pat and David Garris do a lot to help people,” said Linder. “They have really put a lot of time, energy and money in making this display. I think everybody should come see it.”
The Lights of Garris Avenue are on every night from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. A Fireworks show is scheduled for New Year’s Eve at 7:30 p.m.
