| The search of the Madison Street residence and discovery of multiple guns that were reportedly unlawfully in the home, along with illegal drugs, came as no surprise to concerned citizens that voiced their apparent dissatisfaction with the seeming suspicious activity observed at the home. As the discovery of being made, one citizen paced the street on her cell phone decrying the many warnings she gave to persons who apparently had not heeded her warnings to stay clear of the location.
Colleton Sheriff George Malone said early Tuesday evening that he was not prepared to disclose an official accounting of the items confiscated from the residence. He did say, however, that the choice to search the home came after Sunday evening’s shooting incident where deputies arrested Angel Farmer, 21, of Walterboro and charged her with assault and battery with intent to kill. Malone said the evidence would have be examined to ascertain whether or not the weapon used to shoot a 23 year old man on Sunday was discovered among the guns taken by law enforcement on Tuesday. Regarding the shooting, deputies responded to a call at the Apollo Lounge parking lot, located at 1109 Rivers Street in response to several gunshots having been fired. He said Farmer’s arrest was made through witness accounts to the incident. He said the suspect and the man shot have not been cooperative in the investigation and that a motive for the shooting had not been discovered. It is also unknown is the Sunday’s shooting incident is gang related. Deputies observed a vehicle in the parking lot with what appeared to be several bullet holes and a gunshot victim was later located and transported to the Colleton Medical Center. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper arm was treated at the hospital and later released. |
