Maxway robbery remains under investigation

Author: | Walterboro Public Safety Major Ken Dasen said early Tuesday that the scene of weekend armed robbery investigation at the Maxway department store located at 236 Wichman Street remains under investigation.
According to reports, responding officers obtained information that two subjects allegedly approached the store clerk and an additional witness, as they left the store in route to make a nightly deposit. An alleged gun-wielding suspect and the other suspect reportedly made demands for the clerk to forfeit the money. The victim told authorities that the moneybag was then dropped to the ground and then taken by the suspects who fled the scene promptly. No arrests have been made in the investigation.
