Palmetto Telephone announces plan to provide new wireless services
| Palmetto Telephone announced plans last week to offer nationwide wireless service with the latest phones and calling plan options, including texting and expanded mobile traffic possibilities with the added advantage of personal local services only possible from the local cooperative network.
For more than 50 years, Palmetto Telephone has provided voice primarily over its dedicated wired infrastructure. Its broader reaching broadband network today provides high-speed Internet, network and computer solutions along with the developing video TV services soon to hit the market in force. Palmetto’s wireless enterprise, comparable to the national services, will launch in the first quarter of 2010, bringing new and distinct wireless technology options home to the Walterboro and surrounding communities. |
“We have been focusing on a competitive wireless nationwide solution for our customers for several years, and we are very happy to soon be making wireless possible in more personal, face-to-face ways,” said Jason Dandridge, PRTC’s general manager.
“Customers want access to an anywhere-anytime plan that is consistent and backed by people they know. Innovation is more meaningful when it comes packaged with a local outlook and way of doing business. Wireless is something our customers are wanting in a way all their communication and data can work together under a one location, one number, one contact provider. We know what this kind of service partnership means to customers and the economic growth of our area, and we hope it will be successful as customers switch to our one total network,” Dandridge explains.
